“Of course there should be snow in winter,” I heard a woman from the far north of Sweden say on a radio talk show this morning. “But its time for a change of colour. We need some green.”
I found myself agreeing with her. Today is extraordinarily lovely. Glistening white snow, still thick on the ground outside, and an unbelievably blue sky, with the wonder of lengthening days of sunshine, make for an almost painful beauty. But I too am longing for a change of colour. Forest pines and firs aside, there is no green to be seen, not even a glimpse.
Come on green!
