Klämdag

“Klämdag” (pronounced klemmdaag) is one of those words which has no direct translation in English, but literally means “squeeze day”. It is an expression used to describe a workday which falls between two holidays. Friday this week is one of those days, falling between Mayday, which is a public holiday, and Saturday, which is a weekend. Swedes, like Australians, like to take this day off. It means a four day weekend. What could be better? Maybe a good “squeeze!”
