Örebro was battered by a windstorm last night. There were trees down and interruptions to the power supply in various parts of the city. It came at the end of a dreary grey day of cold and drizzle.
This morning the wind has gone, the sky is clear and the thermometer is hovering around the two degree mark. As I cycled to school with the kids I felt a sense of newness in the air, as if the world had been tumbled clean in a washing machine. I found myself wondering if the storm has blown away the unsettled, unseasonable warmth of the last month. Will we ever settle into real winter? Will snow ever blow in from the north?
